The De La Salle Centennial Talk was held on November 23, 2011, 3:20-5:20pm at the A903 Lecture Room. The objectives of this activity are to celebrate the Centennial Year of De La Salle and to help LaSallians understand and appreciate the history of the De La Salle University-Manila and the LaSallian values of Religio, Mores et Cultura. The audience was composed of mostly students and notable alumni such as Mr. Ramon F. Campos Jr, and a basketball Olympian, Mr. Nels von Ebbe, an international football player and Mr. Antonio “Tony” Cervantes, the president of DLSC HS Batch 58.
The speakers for this event were Mr. Jose Victor D. Jimenez, Vice-Chair of the History Department and Mr. Benjamin Uichico, Executive Director of the De La Salle Alumni Association. Mr. Jimenez discussed the history of De La Salle University-Manila up to the Japanese Occupation of the Philippines and Mr. Uichico explained the LaSallian values of Religio, Mores et Cultura and its relevance and application to real life. At the end of the event, everyone, including the speakers, the alumnae and members of Liga Historia present sang the LaSallian Alma Mater.
